Cool morning, gentle breeze.
Summertime heat wave coming
again.

Life slows down
while a horse fly buzzes around
tail swishes
foot stamps
Haven't gotten to the thrum
of the cicadas yet.
Hot night with a ceiling fan
pushing warm air around.

July into August
summer's half over
glass half full
close one eye and rest
for just a minute.
