Steppenwolf

I decided to reread Steppenwolf since I listed it as one of my favorite books. And it is. I had forgotten how immediate the narrator seems in this work. It is incredible. The idea of Zeitgeist ( I know it is misspelled in the title of this blog, but....so be it) runs through this book from the very start. Harry Haller embodies the isolated intelectual that percieves the Zeitgeist of Germany between the great wars. I finished the first part narrated by the nephew living in the same bourgeois house, with the foyer that so captivates Haller (smell......?) yes, I guess I was influenced by what I've just read..... Suffering.....?

Woa. could I have a complete thought today? Doesn't look that way. Maybe I should finish this later.
